Common Questions

Frequently asked

Buy as soon as you book your trip to maximize trip cancellation coverage. Pre-existing condition coverage typically requires purchase within 72 hours to 2 weeks of initial trip deposit, depending on the insurer.

Common covered reasons include illness or injury (you or family member), death in the family, job loss, jury duty, home emergencies, and travel supplier bankruptcy. 'Cancel for any reason' upgrades are also available.

Many policies cover pre-existing conditions if they've been stable for 90-180 days before departure. Some policies offer more lenient stability periods. We help you find coverage that works for your health situation.

Credit card coverage is often limited—typically lower medical limits, no trip cancellation, age restrictions, and requiring card purchase. We recommend comparing your card coverage to identify gaps a separate policy should fill.

Most policies can be extended while you're travelling, as long as you haven't made a claim. Contact us or the insurer before your original coverage expires to arrange an extension.
